1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Wordless desktop application, website, documentation, release services, and optional integrations (collectively, the “Service”). Wordless is maintained by Austin Patrician and Wordless contributors (“Wordless,” “we,” or “us”).
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Wordless service
Wordless is a local-first desktop agent workspace for conversations, workspace-aware tasks, tool execution, documents, presentations, spreadsheets, data analysis, code, and other supported workflows. Features may depend on your operating system, configured models, third-party services, workspace permissions, or separately installed components.
You can use core local functionality without a Wordless-hosted account. Some actions require network access because you have chosen a remote model Provider, Google service, GitHub release, MCP Connector, or another external integration.
3. Google accounts and optional cloud sync
Google sign-in is optional and is used to display the account identity you selected. Signing in does not automatically enable cloud sync.
If you separately enable Google Cloud Sync, you authorize Wordless to use the Google Drive app-data scope to synchronize eligible preferences and sanitized model metadata. You remain responsible for selecting the correct Google account, reviewing conflicts, and protecting access to your device and Google account.
You may pause synchronization, delete Wordless cloud data, sign out, or revoke access through your Google account. Details are provided in the Privacy Policy.
4. Software license and commercial use
Use of Wordless source code, binaries, documentation, visual assets, modifications, and derivative works is governed by the Wordless Source-Available License 1.0. These Terms do not expand that license.
- Permitted non-commercial uses include personal use, education or academic research, evaluation and testing, and qualifying non-commercial internal use, subject to the license.
- Commercial use requires a separate prior written agreement from an authorized copyright holder.
- Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses and notices.
- No trademark rights are granted except as necessary to identify the origin of an unmodified copy.
Opening an issue or contacting us about commercial authorization does not itself grant commercial rights.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Having the rights and permissions required for files, prompts, credentials, accounts, and other material you provide.
- Reviewing tool approvals, file changes, commands, generated artifacts, and elevated access before accepting or distributing results.
- Configuring model Providers, endpoints, API keys, Connectors, and workspace permissions correctly.
- Complying with applicable law, third-party terms, intellectual-property rights, privacy obligations, and workplace policies.
- Maintaining backups of important files and outputs.
You must not use Wordless to distribute malware, gain unauthorized access, violate another person’s rights, evade security controls, or perform unlawful or harmful activity.
6. Your content and AI-generated outputs
You retain the rights you already hold in content you provide. You instruct Wordless to process that content as necessary to perform the workflows you request.
Models and automated tools can produce inaccurate, incomplete, insecure, offensive, or non-unique output. You must independently review results before relying on them for legal, financial, medical, security-critical, production, publication, or other consequential decisions. Wordless does not guarantee ownership, originality, accuracy, or fitness of generated output.
7. Third-party services
Wordless can connect to services operated by others, including Google, GitHub, model Providers, MCP servers, OfficeCLI, and other tools you configure. Those services are not controlled by Wordless and are governed by their own licenses, pricing, availability, security, and privacy terms.
You are responsible for charges, quotas, account restrictions, and data processing arising from third-party services you choose. Wordless is not responsible for a third party’s content, conduct, outage, API change, or decision to restrict access.
8. Availability, updates, and changes
We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features, integrations, builds, documentation, or release channels. Updates are optional unless a particular version can no longer operate safely or compatibly. You are responsible for reviewing release notes and choosing when to install an update.
Because Wordless depends on operating systems and third-party APIs, some functionality may become unavailable without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every Provider, or recovery of local or remote data.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WORDLESS AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, AND AVAILABILITY.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wordless and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, business, opportunity, or goodwill arising from the Service or your use of third-party services.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Wordless at any time. Software-license rights terminate automatically when the applicable license terms are breached. We may restrict access to Wordless-operated resources when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security threats, legal obligations, or material violations of these Terms.
Terms that by their nature should survive termination—including license restrictions, disclaimers, liability limitations, and provisions concerning third-party rights—will continue to apply.
11. Changes and contact
We may revise these Terms as the Service or applicable requirements change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
Questions, commercial authorization requests, and legal notices may be sent to 15014915381z@gmail.com or submitted through the official Wordless repository. These Terms are governed by applicable law without creating rights unavailable under mandatory local law.
